1) Raising $80,000? Done! Lets celebrate!

This year, we completed our initiative to raise $80,000 to sponsor a Habitat for Humanity home in memory of our founding president Davis Doan. This was a project we started in 2010. Over the 3 years, we organized fundraisers, Home-a-thons, Habitat Week events and a talent show to reach our goal. With generous donations from our corporate sponsors, we were able to complete this campaign a lot more quickly than originally planned. Not only did we provide the funds for the home, Eyes of Hopemembers also put in the hours and contributed to the construction of the house, which is due to be completed in the spring.

To celebrate, please join us on Tuesday March 26th, 5pm-7pm for some treats and a board game social! Bring your friends and favourite board game!

4) Sandwich Run

Eyes of Hope is having our last sandwich run of the school term on Wednesday April 3rd. This will be a great chance to come out to a sandwich run one last time before some of you head back home for the summer.

Plus, there’ll be cake to celebrate another great year of sandwich runs!

The schedule will be:
– 5:00-5:45: Meet at MSB Rm 4263 and make sandwiches
– 5:45-6:00: FREE pizza dinner and cake
– 6:30-7:30: Sandwich run

We will first head to the Salvation Army Men’s Shelter at College and McCaul and then, depending on weather, we will take a walk in the downtown core, ending our run near City Hall (at Queen and Bay).

Also, please try and bring a reusable bag to carry the sandwich bags.
