3) Sandwich Run (Wednesday, Feb. 20 @ 5-7pm)

We will be having a sandwich run on Wednesday February 20th, 2013. A sandwich run is an outreach activity during which we make bagged lunches and walk around downtown Toronto to deliver meals to hungry people in need and to check up on the homeless to let them know that someone does care. This event is also a good way to see if you’d like to join our club on a more permanent basis as well as to meet other students and have some fun!

A $5 donation would be appreciated – this money will go toward buying the ingredients for the sandwiches. A free pizza dinner will be provided.

– 5:00pm – 5:45pm: Meet at Rm 4263 (1 Kings College Circle, UofT) to make sandwiches
– 5:45pm – 6:30pm: FREE pizza dinner
– 6:30pm – 7:30 pm: Sandwich run

Each year, from November to April, Eyes of Hope participates in umbrella painting sessions with the at-risk youth in Toronto. The sessions run each week on Tuesday nights. It is a good opportunity to engage with the at-risk youth through art, and learn more about the local issues affecting our community. As we can only have 4-5 volunteers join each week, we would like to ask interested volunteers to sign up in the provided spreadsheet link. The sheet shows the dates that we will be volunteering at the church. If you are interested, please fill out the sheet under the appropriate date, with your contact information. All new volunteers will need to go through a maximum 10 minute training session by phone.
